The Win Win Strategy

In 1971, Busicom, a Japanese company, wanted a chip for a new calculator. Intel had an idea to build the world's first general-purpose microprocessor by merging with integrated circuit technology. The companies decided to work together. Busicom wanted 7 individual computer chips for the calculator. Intel made it much easier and economical by placing all of the parts that make a computer think (i.e. central processing unit, memory, input and output controls) on one small chip. The rest, as they say, is history.

That WIN-WIN strategy enabled both companies to become viable. Intel eventually bought back the rights from Busicom for $60,000.

In the beginning of the 1990s, Intel faced a price war from one of its competitors. Instead of lowering the price, Intel focused on branding its name. It was difficult to get consumers to know and recognize the Intel brand since Intel's product is inside the computer and the consumer cannot actually see the product. Intel realized that it would be the consumer who would determine if computer manufacturers used Intel products or not, so Intel used the "Intel Inside" marketing strategy. This strategy not only portrayed "High Quality" and "Trust" images for Intel, but also changed the CPU market.

Building brand recognition and teaching product differentiation for HTE America's SOQI Beds is our WIN-WIN strategy. As the story above demonstrates, this combination will help us to promote "SOQI Inside" and get consumers to acknowledge the "SOQI" mark. Let consumers who want to live in ultimate health know (and really feel) that the only way to achieve this is through HTE America's "SOQI."
